The application period for the Finnish Society of Sciences and Letters’ grants and research funding runs from 1 to 31 January 2026. Applications are submitted via the electronic application system. The application deadline is 31 January at 23:59 (Finnish time).

Funding is available in all academic fields except mathematics, physics, astronomy, and chemistry, including medicinal chemistry. Applications in these fields should instead be directed to the Magnus Ehrnrooth Foundation, which has the same application period.

Applicants may apply either for a personal grant, which is paid directly to the recipient’s bank account, or for research funding administered by a university or research institute. When logging into the electronic application system, applicants must create an applicant profile either as an individual or on behalf of an organisation.
