Confidently Wrong: A Field Guide to Your New Research Assistant
Every lab now has a collaborator who works around the clock, reads faster than anyone, and occasionally invents a citation with total conviction. This talk looks at where AI genuinely accelerates research work – literature triage, code, first drafts, data wrangling – and where it quietly manufactures problems you won’t notice until reviewer two does. Some real examples, a few cautionary tales, and a practical rule of thumb for deciding when a machine’s output is a starting point and when it’s a liability.
