Welcome to our May meeting.
Join us for an evening of engaging scholarly presentations and stimulating discussion.
The meeting will be held on 18 May 2026 at 17.15 at the premises of Finska Läkaresällskapet, Villa Aikala, Meilahti (Johannesbergintie 8, Helsinki).
The meeting is open to the public, but advance registration is required no later than 11 May 2026 at societas@scientiarum.fi.
Programme
Tuomas Heikkilä will give a lecture entitled ”Ilmapalloja, DNA:ta ja likaisia käsiä – miten tutkia keskiajan kirjallista kulttuuria?”
Tuomas Heikkilä has served as Professor of Church History at University of Helsinki since 2019. He received his Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Helsinki in 2002. His current research focuses on medieval literary culture in the Nordic countries, which he and his research group examine from an interdisciplinary perspective.
Tuomas Heikkilä was elected a member of The Finnish Society of Sciences and Letters in 2025 and was awarded the Professor E.J. Nyström’s Prize on 29 April 2026.
