- Blåbärslandet Stage, Messuaukio 1, 00520 Helsinki
Are you planning to visit the Helsinki Book Fair at Messukeskus from 23 to 26 October? On Thursday, 23 October, we invite you to the Blåbärslandet Stage to listen to a discussion on reality and metaphysics.
What is reality, and how do we understand our place within it? For more than two thousand years, questions like these have been shaped by Aristotle’s Metaphysics, one of the most influential works in the history of philosophy. This year, the Finnish Society of Sciences and Letters has published the first Swedish edition of Aristotle’s Metaphysics, with an introduction, commentary and notes accompanying the translation by Jan-Ivar Lindén. The volume makes Aristotle’s thought more accessible both to scholars and to a wider audience. Pauliina Remes discusses with Lindén this influential work, which has shaped human thought for over two millennia – and still offers vital insights into reality and the self.
The programme is in Swedish.
The publication is available as an e-book and in print from the Tiedekirja Bookstore (Snellmaninkatu 13, 00170 Helsinki).
