Aristotle\u2019s Metaphysics in a New Swedish Edition"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><p><strong>What is reality, and how do we understand our place within it?<\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n\n<p><p>For more than two thousand years, questions like these have been shaped by <em>Aristotle\u2019s Metaphysics<\/em>, one of the most influential works in the history of philosophy.<\/p><\/p>\n\n<p><p>The title <em>Metaphysics<\/em> does not come from Aristotle himself, who spoke instead of a \u201cfirst philosophy.\u201d Over time, however, the concept of metaphysics has come to signify the most fundamental questions: first principles and causes and something Aristotle calls &#8220;being as being&#8221;. Drawing on dialogue with Plato and the early Greek thinkers, the text develops Aristotle\u2019s own perspective, which today continues to inspire debate and new interpretations.<\/p><\/p>\n\n<p><p>Finnish Society of Sciences and Letters has this year published the first Swedish edition of <em>Aristotle\u2019s Metaphysics<\/em>, with an introduction, commentary, and notes accompanying the translation by Jan-Ivar Lind\u00e9n. The volume makes Aristotle\u2019s thought more accessible both to scholars and to a broader audience.<\/p><\/p>\n\n<p><p>The publication is available as an <a href=\"https:\/\/edition.fi\/societasscientiarum\/catalog\/view\/1359\/1757\/6329-1\">e-book<\/a> and in print from the <a href=\"https:\/\/tiedekirja.fi\/en\/metafysik\">Tiedekirja Bookstore<\/a> (Snellmaninkatu 13, 00170 Helsinki).<\/p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is reality, and how do we understand our place within it?
