Monthly meeting

Welcome to our May meeting!

The meeting will take place on Monday, 19 May 2025 at 5:15 PM in the annex of Villa Aikala, Finska Läkaresällskapet, Johannesbergintie 8, Meilahti.

The meeting is in Swedish and Finnish.

Lecture by Tomas Lehecka: ”Upptäck språk! Att göra språkvetenskap tillgängligt för alla”

Tomas Lehecka has been a university lecturer in Swedish at Åbo Akademi University since 2012. He earned his PhD at the University of Helsinki in 2012. His research has focused on statistical studies of adjectives in Swedish and on public perceptions of language. Tomas Lehecka has been awarded a grant by the Finnish Society of Sciences and Letters for his research.

Lecture by Stefan Nygård: ”Perspektiv på Finlands vetenskaps- och kunskapshistoria – Näkökulmia Suomen tieteen ja tiedon historiaan”

Stefan Nygård, project director of the History of Science in Finland project, will provide an update on the progress of the project.
